I call this set of photos,ย Lester’s Morning Rush. Every morning, L is sweating before he even leaves the house. Once pre-school starts, I’ll probably be awake before he does, but as of right now, I’m enjoying this time of waking up as he’s ready to go walk Alfie. I love capturing this moment. His hair was always SUPER short before he moved here, but since then he’s grown out his hair…which means it takes him longer than me to get his hair done in the morning (yes, I tease him about it).
Morning chores. I do laundry, L walks Alfie before bolting out the door to catch his bus to the station. He is literally faster than flash when we hear the bus at the end of our street. He has superhuman hearing and speed when it comes to catching the bus. Also, excuse the hot mess of a pantry above.
Captured Alfie’s bandage before his trip to the vet again for an IV. Glad I did because he came home with a different one.
Discovered the best substitute to plain milk for my instant iced coffee: Coconut Soy Milk. Mmmm so delicious – it tastes like an iced coffee from a tropical boutique hotel hahaha. Mom was also sweet enough to whip up scrambled eggs for me. So freaking delicious – I’m so spoiled.
En route to the vet for the first time today. My first car was a Toyota Matrix in college, so I had to get a Toyota when I moved home too. I love my car. It’s not “cool,” but it’s convenient, zippy, and perfect for me.
Spent a few hours at the vet: taking a blood test, waiting for the results, then speaking to the vet about leaving him for the day to do a more intensive IV because his results were slowing down. The vet recommended he do this, rather than the “quick fix” IV as he wasn’t responding to it as well as we had hoped. It broke our hearts to leave him for even 6 hours, but we did what we had to.
By the time we left the vet, it was already almost 1 PM and I was famished. Mom and I decided to give the new “Avocado Burgers” from McDonald’s a shot because avocados. I believe it WOULD have been delicious….but it was kinda cold and meh. I don’t know why I had high hopes. Ha.
With unsatisfied tummies (mom had heartburn already hahaha), we stopped by my grandma who’s currently in an assisted living home close to our house. She told me she hates my curly hair, and that my dog just has heat stroke and his vet is a quack. Oh grandma.
Another round of Law & Order, and some work while we waited for Alfie to be done with his IV.
Picked up the pup, who was slipping and sliding on the floor at the animal hospital when we picked him up. SO MUCH EXCITE! I feel like every time we leave him, his heart breaks a little. So do ours.
A little blogging got done in the kitchen while Mom whipped up dinner again. Oops. Couldn’t decide what to make so she took over. Living at home sucks. Not.
Eggplant Bacon Tomatosauce Mozzarella and Mochi Mochi (or squishy) Potato Cheese Balls. Yum. Never enough cheese, amirite?
One ritual we have in our home is somebody cleans the dog before bed. It’s unreal how good he has it. He gets his eye-boogers, ears & teeth cleaned, a dry shampoo, brushing AND a massage. Lucky dog, I want his life (minus his current situation).
L worked late again so he heated up his food and we sat in the living room again. Mom updated him on Alfie’s stats and then we headed upstairs when he was finished his meal. I hate when he works late but it is what it is – I’m just proud of him for coming home with a smile on his face despite how exhausted he must be.
I got to shower first tonight – WOOHOO! Snapped a couple of cuddles before he jumped in the shower. Love this time of day the best. When we can talk and just be together.
Aaaaaaand that’s a wrap for Tuesday! I think of my day as it’s happening as boring but looking back at the photos – no it’s not. I don’t need an adventure every day. I don’t need to be out and about. My day is still special and surrounded by those I love most. That makes it my life. That makes it special.
